HOST AN EVENT for #BIPOCVampDay

JOIN US FOR BIPOCVampDay as an associated event!

Although we’re a virtual event, we love to see our fellow vamps meetup in person, host associated virtual events, continue to spread the word about Sickle Cell Disease and BIPOC vampires. If you’d like to join us by hosting an associated event, please read our guidelines below.

GUIDELINES

THIS EVENT IS ABOUT BIPOC VAMPIRES

Your event should focus on Black, Indigenous, and POC vampires in some way. Either in the subject matter or the community present. This event is about supporting these communities and showcasing representation. Please refrain from centering your event on non-BIPOC vampires.

Examples on how to incorporate the theme:

  • Book club/book event focused on vampire books by BIPOC authors
  • Ball/event with BIPOC vampires as the theme
  • Burlesque or drag show with BIPOC vampire acts
  • BIPOC vampire meetup in a park
  • Gallery show featuring vampire artwork by BIPOC artists
  • TTRPG/VTM game with BIPOC participants

PROMOTE BIPOCVampDay & SICKLE CELL DISEASE AWARENESS

Our goal is to spread awareness about the main virtual event, charity raffle and fundraiser. Any associated event will need to mention BIPOCVampDay and spread awareness about Sickle Cell Disease and our charity of choice, the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America*. We can provide QR codes, graphics, logos and anything you may need to showcase that aspect at your event.

Any participant can join our BIPOCVampDay virtual charity raffle regardless of their location. Our fundraiser offers virtual donor rewards at various tiers and many of the raffle prizes are either digital or ship internationally (unless noted otherwise).

*For those outside of the United States, you’re welcome to support your international affiliated Sickle Cell charity, see this page for suggestions.

DONATE TO THE FUNDRAISER (if applicable)

Any ticketed or paid events should donate a portion of proceeds to the BIPOCVampDay virtual fundraiser or to the SCDAA/local chapter directly. The goal of this event is to raise funds for Sickle Cell Disease and we’d like our associated events to do so as well.

For non-paid events, attendees are welcome to donate using the BIPOCVampDay QR code or direct them to the fundraiser website. It’s entirely optional, but every donation $5 and up is entered in our virtual raffle, with digital rewards at the higher tiers.

Note: If your event donates directly to the SCDAA or to your local chapter, please share the amount raised with our team via email so we can count it towards the larger fundraiser event.

VIRTUAL EVENTS

Want to host something virtual? That is also welcome. We often showcase streaming events as part of our event schedule – gaming, TTRPG/RPG, virtual panels, storytelling events and more. The guidelines are the same. Please contact us so we can coordinate something together.

For TTRPG/VTM/Storytelling virtual activities, please submit your application here.

CONNECT WITH US

While everyone is welcome to host an event, we highly suggest connecting with BIPOCVampDay organizers before planning your event. We want to make sure any associated events follow our guidelines and promote/fundraise for Sickle Cell Disease. Please send us an email or direct messages on Instagram. We can also add your event to the schedule and promote it to those looking for other local or associated virtual events. >>If we have not been notified, then you are not an official event!

FAQ:

Q: Does the associated event have to happen the same time as the official event?

Answer: No, we have had associated events weeks and months before the official BIPOCVampDay weekend as well as associated events in October and November. We generally leave our virtual fundraiser open through the end of the year, so folks can donate later if that is more possible for them.
