Representation is more important than ever – so let’s get hype for BIPOC Vampire Day 2026!<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Join your immortal hosts Sidney and Adora for our 6th year of #BIPOCVampDay – a 3-day long online event celebrating Black, Indigenous, and POC<\/strong><\/em> vampires in media. We’re also fundraising for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America and spreading awareness about sickle cell disease – that’s right, the vampires are giving back to our community with a virtual blood-drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This September 18th – 20th<\/strong> join us for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a community based event, the activities change every year! We’re always blown away by the creativity and amazing ways folks celebrate BIPOC vampires and spread awareness about Sickle Cell Disease. Here’s how to get involved for #BIPOCVampDay<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n MORE ABOUT #BIPOCVAMPDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n #BIPOCVampDay <\/strong>began in September 2021 when creator Black Bettie Cosplay (aka J) was inspired by the success of Black Fae Day<\/a> (created by Jasmine La Fleur) earlier that year. Much like Black Fae Day, BIPOC Vampire Day was an event focused on representation – because despite vampiric folklore existing in every culture around the world – the media showcasing vampires is often incredibly Euro-centric or pale. Determined to prove that vampires can be more diverse, they invited their fellow BIPOC vampires (and all vampire fans) to come out to play. And they came out in full force – showcasing their original characters, art, cosplay, books\/movies\/games all weekend in a stunning spectacle. And better yet, the fledgeling event raised $2.9k in its first year<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why Sickle Cell Disease?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month! Sickle cell disease is a blood based illness that disproportionately affects Black, Indigenous & POC communities. So it only felt appropriate to center the event around spreading awareness and raising funds for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America<\/a> (which also has international chapters around the world). Vampires hosting a blood drive is already hilarious – hosting one to support their community is even better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING FOR 2026?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This event couldn’t happen without assistance<\/strong><\/em> – and we could definitely use more help.
